New Direct Flights Between Galápagos and Cuenca from March 2026
LATAM has announced a new and exciting flight route within Ecuador, scheduled to begin at the end of March 2026. This new connection will allow travellers to fly from Cuenca to the Galápagos via Quito, with the return flight operatingdirectly from the Galápagos to Cuenca. The service is planned to operatetwice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

New Flight Connection Between the Galapagos and Cuenca
This new Galápagos to Cuenca flight opens up excellent new itinerary options for travellers visiting Ecuador. Cuenca, located in Ecuador’s southern Andes, is a beautiful and traditional colonial city, rich in culture, architecture, and everyday Ecuadorian life.
With this new route, adding a visit to Cuenca after a Galápagos cruise or land-based Galápagos tour becomes much easier, reducing travel times and logistics.
Exploring Cuenca and Southern Ecuador
From Cuenca, there is plenty to explore. Visitors can discover the city’s historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit the nearby Ingapirca Inca ruins, or explore Cajas National Park, famous for its hundreds of páramo lakes and hiking trails.
Travellers can also go further afield to traditional Andean towns such as Saraguro, known for its fascinating indigenous culture, traditional dress, and strong community identity. Cuenca is an ideal base for discovering the cultural and natural highlights of southern Ecuador.
